Child Protection

Certa Recruitment are committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and candidates to share this commitment and to be fully aware of the importance of child protection.  Five areas have been highlighted within the Every Child Matters agenda as being vital to children’s and young people’s well being to be addressed by each school. These are:

To achieve this, children need to feel supported and valued by a network of reliable professionals.  It is essential that everyone who works with children is aware of and understands their responsibilities in safeguarding children. Please use the links below to find out more about your responsibilities:

It is every teacher’s responsibility to adhere to the specific guidelines as set out in each school’s Child Protection Policy.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child you should immediately discuss them with a permanent member of staff and, if possible, the designated teacher. Every school has a teacher designated for Child Protection. Under no circumstances should a teacher ever intervene on their own. Where concerns arise as a result of information given by a child it is important to reassure the child but not to promise confidentiality.

If there is an allegation of abuse made against a candidate working through Certa Recruitment it should be reported immediately. Action will be taken in accordance with Certa Recruitment’s Complaints Procedure.
